Theoretical and Practical Knowledge of Central Auditory Processing Disorder ‎among Primary School Teachers

Children's ability to process, store and retrieve auditory ‎information is the foundation of their literacy, numeracy, ‎academic achievement. This progression hampered by Central ‎Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD), which causes non-‎specific symptoms. A teacher's role critical in ‎multidisciplinary efforts observe, recognize, refer, manage, ‎and intervene on child's learning as part ‎CAPD. study aims investigate primary school teachers’ ‎awareness CAPD’s characteristics, causes, symptoms, ‎management, intervention strategies. questionnaire was ‎developed distributed randomly selected schools ‎across six educational districts Kuwait. Results from ‎‎1003 teachers showed a reasonable degree awareness ‎CAPD, mostly attributed prior exposure ‎years teaching experience. However, many ‎confused CAPD with other conditions such deafness, ‎learning disabilities, or behavioural disorders.‎‏ ‏Recommendations are made for bridging gap between ‎theoretical knowledge professional practice ‎education progression.‎ ‎(Keywords: Auditory Disorder, Primary ‎School Teachers, Knowledge Awareness, Kuwait)‎
